As I near the finish line of my pregnancy, it’s hard to believe that this series, which has captured every milestone of my journey, is coming to a close. Over the past eight months, baby Coelho has been growing inside me, and with every episode, you’ve joined me in celebrating the highs, navigating the lows, and sharing in the excitement of what’s to come. Now, we’re in the final stretch, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the support and love you’ve shown me during this incredible time.
Today marks the 11th and penultimate episode of this series, and I wanted to do something special for this final segment. I’ve gathered a group of inspiring women—mothers who have been through it all—and asked them to share their wisdom, advice, and even a few funny stories from their own journeys into motherhood. These conversations were heartfelt, eye-opening, and filled with the kind of realness that only mothers can offer.
I’m so thankful to the amazing women who took the time to share their experiences with me. From career-driven superstars to seasoned mothers, the insights they offered were nothing short of priceless. Here’s a glimpse into the conversations I had with Eva Longoria, Juliana Paes, Jessica Alba, Carolina Dieckmann, Sabrina Sato, and Karen Wazen.
Motherhood: A Journey with No Manual
The advice I received from these inspiring women varied, but there was one common thread: motherhood is unpredictable, and you can’t prepare for everything. As Eva Longoria wisely said, “You can read all the books in the world, but nothing compares to the actual experience of being a mom.” It’s true, isn’t it? You can plan, you can prepare, but in the end, there’s always something new that takes you by surprise.
Jessica Alba, who has always been an advocate for transparency in motherhood, shared a story about her early days as a mom and how overwhelming it can be. “The hardest part for me,” she said, “was the feeling of being responsible for another human being, knowing that your actions and decisions are shaping their world.” But she also emphasized the importance of trusting your instincts and not getting lost in the noise of external advice. “You know your child better than anyone else, so trust yourself,” Jessica advised.
Carolina Dieckmann, a mother of two, echoed similar sentiments. “Motherhood is about learning every day,” she shared. “You think you know what you’re doing, but then your child surprises you, and you realize you’re always growing along with them.” It’s a humbling experience, one that constantly challenges you to adapt, learn, and grow.
Laughter Through the Chaos
Of course, motherhood isn’t just about advice and wisdom—it’s also about the hilarious moments that come with it. Sabrina Sato had the perfect example of this when she recounted a story about her first days with her daughter. “I was so worried about doing everything perfectly,” Sabrina confessed, “but then I realized my baby didn’t care about perfection. She just wanted to be fed, held, and loved. I would try to organize her clothes, and she would throw them all over the place. It was a mess, but it was our mess, and that made it beautiful.”
Karen Wazen also had a funny moment to share. “My daughter, at around two years old, started imitating everything I did. One day, she put on my shoes and walked around the house like she was the boss. It was the funniest thing to see how much she wanted to be like me. Of course, I couldn’t help but feel proud of that, but also a little worried about what my toddler version might have been like!”
These stories were a beautiful reminder that motherhood isn’t just about teaching; it’s about learning, laughing, and growing with your little one every step of the way.
The Power of Community and Support
Another recurring theme in all of my conversations was the importance of having a support system. Whether it’s your partner, your family, or other mothers, having people who understand what you’re going through is invaluable. Juliana Paes shared how having a close-knit circle of friends and family was essential in her early days of motherhood. “There’s no shame in asking for help,” she said. “In fact, it takes a village to raise a child, and you shouldn’t feel guilty for needing support. We’re all in this together.”
This sentiment was echoed by Eva Longoria, who stressed the importance of connecting with other mothers. “The sisterhood of motherhood is real,” she said. “No one understands what you’re going through better than other mothers. It’s so important to share experiences and lean on each other.”
Looking Ahead: My Own Journey
As I reflect on these conversations, I’m filled with gratitude for the wonderful women who’ve shared their experiences with me. Their wisdom, humor, and insight have given me a newfound appreciation for the journey ahead. And though I’m nearing the end of this pregnancy series, the journey of motherhood is just beginning.
The next episode will be the grand finale of this series, and I’m so excited to take you along on the final steps of my pregnancy as we prepare to welcome baby Coelho into the world. It’s been such a rewarding experience to share this part of my life with you, and I’m truly thankful for all the love and support you’ve given us along the way.
