If there’s one thing you all know about me, it’s that I’ve always had a passion for fitness. I’ve been hitting the gym since I was 17, and exercise has always been a key part of my routine. But let’s be real—between my hectic travel schedule and being away from home so often, keeping a consistent workout routine can be a challenge. Despite the craziness, I’ve learned to make it work because, honestly, working out makes me feel amazing. And let’s not forget those results—there’s nothing like seeing progress to keep you motivated.
When I’m on the road, I try to fit in workouts whenever and wherever I can. Sometimes, that means doing quick exercises in my hotel room (yes, I’ll admit it—I’ve been that person doing squats in a hotel room!). But when I’m home, I love hitting the gym or doing a workout in the comfort of my own space, just like I did this morning. Let’s face it—some days, we just don’t feel like leaving the house. And on those days, I’m thankful that I have a few simple workout tools at home to help me stay on track.
Essential At-Home Workout Tools
Having a few basic pieces of equipment at home has honestly been a game-changer. On days when I’m feeling lazy or just can’t make it to the gym, I still manage to get in a solid workout. The best part is that I don’t need a ton of fancy equipment. A few key tools go a long way in targeting the areas I love to work on—legs, glutes, and abs.
Dumbbells – I use these primarily for squats, which are great for toning and strengthening the legs. Dumbbells are versatile, and you can use them for various exercises, so they’re an essential piece in my at-home routine.
Sandbags – For sculpting and strengthening my glutes, I turn to sandbags. They’re perfect for exercises like hip thrusts and lunges, which help target the gluteus maximus. Plus, they’re easy to store, so they don’t take up too much space in my home.
Exercise Ball – When it comes to abs, an exercise ball is one of my favorites. Whether it’s for crunches or planks, this simple tool helps engage your core and adds an extra challenge to traditional abdominal exercises.
These three items are simple, effective, and perfect for a home workout. But the key is consistency. No matter where I am, I try to squeeze in a little exercise—whether it’s in my hotel room, outside at home, or in the gym.
Getting Outside and Enjoying the Weather
One thing I’ve really enjoyed during these past couple of weeks at home is the chance to work out outdoors. The weather has been gorgeous, so I’ve taken my workouts outside to enjoy some fresh air while I move. There’s something about being outside that adds an extra layer of motivation. Plus, it’s such a nice change of pace from being cooped up inside all the time.
Looking Cute While Working Out
You know me—fashion is always part of the equation, even when I’m working out! One of my favorite workout looks from my collection with Alto Giro is a set of pink and yellow shorts paired with a simple sleeveless top. It’s bright, fun, and super comfortable for all my workouts. The pop of color just makes the whole experience feel more lively. I absolutely love this combo, and it’s perfect for both my home workouts and gym sessions.
My Favorite At-Home Exercises
For those of you wondering what kind of exercises I do at home to target legs, glutes, and abs, here are a few of my favorites:
1. Squats with Dumbbells – These are great for toning the legs and glutes. I focus on form, keeping my chest up and knees behind my toes as I lower into the squat. Add a dumbbell to each hand for extra resistance.
2. Glute Bridges with Sandbags – This is one of my go-to exercises for activating the glutes. I lie on my back with my feet flat on the floor and a sandbag resting on my hips. Then, I push my hips up toward the ceiling, squeezing my glutes at the top.
3. Planks with an Exercise Ball – This one is awesome for targeting your core. Place your feet on the ball, get into a plank position, and hold it. The instability of the ball forces your core to work overtime to keep you balanced.
4. Lunge to Knee Raise – I love this one for working the glutes and legs while also engaging the core. Step into a lunge, then push up to a knee raise on the opposite side. The movement helps to sculpt and strengthen the entire lower body.
These are just a few of the exercises I do regularly to keep my legs, glutes, and abs toned and strong. They’re simple yet effective, and they don’t require a lot of equipment. Plus, you can easily do them at home or wherever you have space.
Let’s Get Moving!
Whether it’s at home or at the gym, the most important thing is just to get moving. We all have those days when the couch is calling our name, but if you can push through that and get in a quick workout, you’ll feel so much better afterward. Even on the busiest days, a short, at-home workout with some basic equipment can make a huge difference in how you feel.
So, grab your dumbbells, sandbag, and exercise ball, and let’s get to work! Remember, it’s all about consistency, and every little bit of movement counts. Who’s with me?
