In this exciting new episode of my Pregnancy Series, I reached a major milestone – the 6-month mark of my pregnancy! It’s hard to believe how fast time is flying by, and as I get closer to meeting our little one, I realized there was something I hadn’t done yet: buy anything for the baby. Can you believe it? No baby clothes, no little onesies, not even a tiny pair of socks! So, it was time to change that, and I decided to take you all along for the ride.
The Big Baby Shopping Day
For me, shopping for baby clothes was such a surreal experience. There’s something so special about buying those first little outfits that your child will wear. It made everything feel even more real, and it brought a rush of emotions I wasn’t expecting. That’s the thing about becoming a mom—you go through all these little moments of anticipation and joy that you don’t even realize will mean so much to you.
Ícaro came with me that day, and I have to say, he definitely kept things light and fun. He even tried his hand at negotiating discounts at the store where we were picking out the baby’s first clothes. Classic Ícaro, right? But I have to admit, I loved his enthusiasm! It just made the experience even more memorable.
A Little Challenge to Make It Fun
Now, because we love a good challenge, we decided to add a twist to this baby shopping spree. The challenge? To buy a complete look for the baby with only $20! That’s right—just $20 to get everything from head to toe. Could it be done? Would we be able to snag the perfect outfit without breaking the bank? Watch the video to find out how we fared, but I can tell you it was quite the adventure.
We had so much fun running around the store, looking for the best deals, and trying to make the most out of our small budget. There’s something special about stretching your money as far as possible, and let’s just say, we were both determined to make it work. It was a fun, lighthearted experience that left me feeling grateful for how much support Ícaro and I have from each other as we prepare for this new chapter in our lives.
The First Look
Choosing the baby’s first look was a big deal for me. I wanted it to be something simple, cute, and comfortable—but also practical for those first moments at home and in the hospital. I think that’s what really stood out to me throughout this shopping experience: the thought of bringing our little one home, and how every single detail, from the clothes to the nursery, will be a part of their very first moments in the world.
And don’t worry—though we were on a budget, we definitely made sure the outfit was adorable. The baby’s first look is a memory that will stick with us forever, and I’m so excited to see our little one in those first clothes!
